Ottemeier is a much sought-after specialist for the fast and reliable manufacturing of individual parts and small serial products, with contract machining for tools, fixtures and machinery components in the fields of milling and wire EDM.

 

If in-house manufacturing should be out of the question, then we can provider our customers a convincing solution. We mill, measure and erode from the planning stage up to, and including, the finished component. Economical, precise and perfect. The spectrum of milling machines ranges from universal milling machines through to machining centres to 5-axis gantry milling centres with a table load-bearing capacity of 30 tons. For contract EDM, Ottemeier utilises modern CNC wire EDM centres which guarantee high-precision machining of components, also for large-dimensioned workpieces up to a height of 650 mm. With a 3-coordinate measuring machine, large parts up to a weight of 25 tons can be accurately measured and this with a measurement uncertainty of only 5 my+L/300 mm.

Measuring machine

3-coordinate measuring machine LHF 30-60-20

Our 3-coordinate measuring machine is designed for workpieces up to a weight of 25 tons, whereby the measuring uncertainty (MPE E) is just 5 µm +L/300 mm. These performance values, which are almost unique in Germany, are achieved by a fully air-conditioned room and an actively damped machine foundation.

Eroding machinery

CNC wire eroding centres are utilised in our factory which enable a very precise machining for components and tools. Even large dimensioned workpieces with a height up to 650 mm can be very precisely machined in these centres.

Wire eroding with automatic robots

Our latest wire eroding machinery from the AgieCharmilles 2000S and 3000S series are fully automatically equipped with robot automation in order to make even better use of our capacities. The robot assumes everything else fully automatically after the programme has been created and clamping of the workpieces to be eroded on special pallets:

  • Storing the workpieces in the tool rack
  • Transfer to measuring machine
  • Fully automatic filling of the wire eroding machinery
  • Collecting the finished eroded part
  • Drying and storing in the tool rack

Everything from one source

There are various reasons why you should assign the contract machining to us. Either the part to be machined or processed is particularly large, very special and/or complicated, or the customer has capacity bottlenecks. The customer can receive everything from one source from Ottemeier on request. From mechanical manufacturing and production - milling, wire eroding, grinding - to surface treatment - hardening, nitride treatment, painting - up to, and including, quality control.

Extended workbench

As an extended workbench, Ottemeier is abler to work according to the customer's specifications and calculates an individual quotation after a detailed examination of all requirements. This can commence immediately after issuing the order. The details are defined jointly with the customer, the CAD/CAM staff create the machine programmes according to the technical drawing data, the colleagues from the work preparation department, also known as deadline hunters at Ottemeier, plan the production and monitor the adherence to schedules. The mechanical manufacturing commences after a renewed control by the machine operator.
